This Veteran’s Day, wounded veteran Timothy Strobel (US Army) surprised his girlfriend, Jennifer, with a proposal in Times Square. The proposal began on the NASDAQ Tower with a short, pre-taped video of Strobel in full dress holding five signs that asked for Jennifer’s hand. As the pre-taped video rolled, the couple was separated; she believing he was at a veterans parade. He then “appeared” at her side at the end of the video, surprising her, and getting down on one knee to propose. Blue Nile provided a diamond ring and other amenities for the perfect weekend. Serving as a medic in Iraq, Timothy survived numerous firefights and 12 IED explosions, including six in five days. Finally, a gunshot wound to his leg left him debilitated. Immediately medevac’d out of Baghdad, doctors told him he’d never walk again. Refusing amputation, Strobel committed to physical therapy. Today, he walks proudly with 70% strength in his injured leg. During his rehabilitation, he met Jennifer. Strobel credits her love and support through both the physical and emotional recuperation as the reason for his recovery. With the help of Blue Nile, Strobel asked for her hand in marriage.
