This is the the Charlie Chaplin short silent film that came out June 15 1919. It was his 66th film release and his third film for First National Films. It’s about Charlie which works as a farm hand in a little village called Sunnyside, his master is hard to him and he meets alot of unfair treatments on his way, but with the nature of The Tramp he’s hard to shock, just until the city chap, a real gentleman with stylish clothes and a good earning, (Things that Charlie is without) crash in the little village. When he is full recovered he meets Charlie’s Girlfriend and the city chap seems interrested in her, Charlie who takes care of the store at that time looks how he talk to her and follow her home, Charlie gets really sad since she is all he got. When Charlie want to visit her later that day he see that the city chap was invited in and they are flirting with eachother, that breaks Charlie’s heart but he feel that if he could look just a little more like the city chap he maybe could win back her heart. He gets home and finds some old clothes that could seems to be good for the purpose, but his sweetheart resist him and with a broken heart he wants to do it over and kill himself. He stands on the road and wants to be hit by a car, but in the very sec where he is supposed to be killed he awakes by a kick in his butt and his master yells at him to carry out the baggage of the city chap and it seems that the last sad moments just have been a dream, and his sweetheart still …
