Regulations doesn't have to equal security; since Bush got into office rules and regulations have risen within the financial market. The question remains: is the rules currently working? When the great depression took place government passed rules and intervened when it should not. Businesses has to fail. It will effect "main street" as well as Wall street. It will result in a greater pain for all but it will be shortened in timespan. Austrian economic principles and practice should come handy.
The only part I disagree with Ron Paul on is the issue of regulation. Government has a proper role to play in creating fairness and security in the market. Regulation doesn't have to be synonymous with red tape.
But Ron Paul is awesome.
